Elimination of Crossing Guards at Specific Locations

Parents,

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will be eliminating crossing guards at the following locations effective 02/22/23. It is imperative that you make your children aware of this and as to where they should go as an alternative.

  • County Road at Park Avenue
    • Children are to utilize the guard posted at County Road and Union Avenue to cross County road.
  • Lexington Avenue at Short Place
    • Children are to utilize the sidewalk on the south side of Lexington Avenue and cross at the crossing guard at either Lexington Avenue and Brookside Avenue or Lexington Avenue and Jefferson Avenue.
  • Merritt School (south guard)
    • Children are to cross at the remaining crossing guard posted at the north end of Merritt School.
