The Garden Club of Cresskill was founded in the spring of 1947, dedicated to keeping Cresskill beautiful. Over the years, the club has made many contributions to the town. For example, Christmas lights and decorations were obtained for the Borough Hiall. Dogwood trees were planted on Dogwood Lane. Provided for a wrought iron fence, platform and benches at Veterans Square. The club also installed a sprinkler system to water flowers at Veterans Square. Memorial trees for the past presidents of the Garden Club were planted in various locations in town. Planted shrubs and trees and installed a sprinkler system at the Cresskill Library on Union Ave. A town sign was commissioned by the club which stands in Veterans Square. A new flagpole was purchased for Veterans Square in 1993. Six flowering Pear Trees were planted in the William Cook Park, opposite the firehouse, for Cresskill's 100th anniversary. Two benches and a wastebin were placed in the William Cook Park.

Every year, bulbs and flowers are planted at Vererans Square and at other locations in town. In early May, there is a flower sale which helps to finance the club's many projects.

Friendly and informative meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month, except during July and August, at 1 pm in the Cresskill Borough Hall on Union Ave., Cresskill.
